As a request from her boss in the cafe she was now working for, Yun was told to wear a "special" uniform that will certainly increase the number of clients for the place. The uniform didn't seem too bad in her eyes, a maid apron that fit nicely with her red Cheongsam, a pair of gloves and western-like shoes to contrast with her look. Quite an adorable sight for someone like her yet completely unaware of how people might react to it. Her boss' orders were very specific and Yun's training would be her key to show off her competence to her co-workers. For someone like Yun, her first day's orders seemed easy at first - "What you will do for today is simple, Wear your best smile and walk around the district. Approach people and give them these promotion tickets, do this well and I'll consider your help for future errands!" - But the reality that quickly hit her after she was left on her own was another. Problems quickly started to show up and an insecurity that she had never felt before started to build up fast inside of her, for one, Yun's English was not the best and she had an accent, she could easily understand what other people said around her but she has never been able to hold a conversation for any longer than 3~4 words. Secondly, she was supposed to approach people to promote her cafe, sure it sounded like an easy task but given Yun's personality the mere thought of getting close to someone, smile at them, talk to them and then try to get them to like her enough to accept her tickets was simply "impossible". "I'm done for..." - The poor Chinese maid was just standing there in the middle of the street, looking down on her feet and holding onto the tickets tightly somewhere in the Shopping District. She didn't know anymore what she had to do, where to go or even how to finish her job. IT seemed as if the job that she luckily got would be over sooner than she could have ever imagined.

Another day off without a job from the Coalition or a fight from my school, what an absolute drag. I wish they would send things my way more often, it would make living here a lot more interesting to say the least. I came out here to fight horrors and the like, not sit around all day and stroll the city. But, it couldn't be helped, I had no control over the higher ups, so I was stuck in this situation and had to behave myself if I wanted them to toss anything my way, so here I was again getting ready to go out and walk around the city. I decided that I should make my way back over to the shopping district, last time I went I met Hua, so maybe this time I would get lucky and find another cute girl to chat up, and maybe a ki artist to boot. Wishful thinking, but it was a goal nonetheless. After all, nothing beat a cute girl who could fight, they could satisfy all the needs. As I grabbed my purse and headed out of the door, I took note that the weather was indeed much nicer than the other day, and more suited to spring than snow. Not that it made much difference in my attire, a jog in the cold was enough to keep me warm enough after all, and was good training. Today I decided to just go for a leisurely stroll, as I didn't quite feel like it was necessary to take my bike, and a jog could be done later, right now I just wanted to enjoy the weather. After a while, I made my way over to the shopping district and began to meander around, picking up some groceries and the like while I was out anyway, as well as just generally looking around for interesting people, all the while keeping my sense open for a ki signiture. After all, it would give me an idea of who was interesting more than just looking at them alone. After a while, I noticed a stronger Ki signal in the district, and deciding that I had nothing better to do than to check it out, I made my way over to it. Thankfully, I had saved refrigerated groceries for last so I had plenty of time to look around before having to get home. When I made my way over to the signature, I found that it came from a young Asian looking girl in what appeared to be a Chinese dress of some sort covered by an apron. From what I could tell she was holding tickets for that maid cafe I went to the other day, and she was definitely a cutie. Whoever owned that cafe obviously had a good taste in employees, after all she employed Hua and it seemed she had employed this cute little morsel as well. Though, the girl seemed more than a little lost and confused, maybe she was new to town? That would explain her behavior, and deciding to help the girl out, I walked up to her and decided to make use of the Mandarin I learned back in Japan. I had thought the class would have been useless, but I guess I can't say that anymore and need to send that teacher an apology note for saying otherwise, sorry teach. "Hello, you look a little lost, do you need some help?" I asked in Mandarin, hopefully she spoke that and not Cantonese, otherwise I wouldn't be able to help nearly as much.

Destiny playing its cards against Yun had another surprise for her. A seemingly Japanese woman approached her on her own and offered help in a rather fun Mandarin accent. Whether she was joking or actually offering help, to have a stranger make such an approach on Yun was very weird for her, not to mention she had issues with socializing and meeting new people this situation was sure to become worse. Yun gained some confidence back and decided to reply to the strange girl as polite as she could in Mandarin "Hi... I don't mean to be rude but I am working right now... I am not supposed to talk to strangers but if you'd like to chat then..." Finally for Yun, a chance to promote her café, not fail at her first task and deliver her first ticket! "I'd be glad to listen to your needs in our Maid café!" Yun forced a smile, she was never good at showing her true feeling to others but keeping a smile up was part of her job. She then gently took out a special discount ticket out of her bag and handed it over to the strange girl. "We'll be happy to have your company with us so please, accept this ticket as a token of courtesy from us!" Said Yun in Mandarin all the way. Now if only everyone in the city spoke Mandarin, then surely Yun's work would be easier than she expected.

Admittedly, today had been something of a bad day so far – the cloudy weather was nice, certainly, and she’d skipped out on work, too; but her pre-order of the newest Atlus JRPG had been cancelled out of the blue, just as it was released! She’d had to go out and try and hassle the store itself for it, and ended up spending an hour trying to figure out the issue alongside the unfortunate cashier… and in the end, all for nothing! That useless blue-haired brat had just managed to pick up her copy a day early in her name! With anything else, it might not have been such an irritation, but she’d really been looking forward to picking it up herself… damn it, he probably forgot to get the mouse-pad bonus with it, too! She didn’t want the CD, she could get that off the net anyway! Ugh! Thankfully, all that could be put aside for now. Lunch was on her mind now, so she didn’t really need to think any more about all that nonsense. Plus, she’d snapped up a good deal on a neat fightstick cover, so that was at least something. But, while her stomach was still rumbling a little, she ended up distracted by a much more entertaining offer… it seemed that boring maid café had stepped up its efforts! Or, maybe it was just a cosplayer? They looked a bit too awkward for the latter, but… ah, she had to ask, anyway! Wrapped in a double-breasted black jacket with a joint skirt to handle the colder weather (albeit alongside black tights and high-heeled boots; she had to keep up appearances!), Vivian snuck through the sparse crowd over to her new find. Such incredible hair! She was truly curious now. Definitely worth her time. Fashion was a group sport, after all! Unfortunately, it seemed she had some slight competition… They weren’t particularly bad looking themselves, but that scent of sweat that hung about their clothes was repulsive! And bantering in another language… maybe this wasn’t her time to shine after all. It wasn’t good to aim too low… But! As the poor maid squeaked and squirmed, Vivian was sure that she was in need right now! Someone like this needed a superhero; not some snarky stranger! With looks that could kill but a merciful heart – yes, V.V. was on the case! ”Aloha, sugar!” greeted the lady, interrupting the Mandarin conversation with utmost confidence; ”I don’t like to barge in so roughly, but I really must know where you got the outfit – it’s a precious jewel amongst these masses. And such hair, too! Your stylist must be famous!”Nodding happily along with her own point (and leaving her hair-bow bouncing along with the motion), the wannabe-human’s eyes glittered with entrancing curiosity. ”Ah, but you are on the job, aren’t you? I see those tickets, dear.” remarked Vivian, spying Yun’s behaviour – she’d been on this street enough times to know about this deal. ”Hm, you’re certainly much more spectacular than your comrades. But, some advice! Your secret weapon is your smile! If you feel shy, look shy – but then, once you have someone interested, shoot them that sugary smile. With that alone, even the most anxious of girls can melt a heart with ease. You should use it wisely.”

Another strange face appeared right in front of Yun, another female but this one seemed to be more outgoing than the other one. Her English was quite amazing to listen to and Yun couldn't help but feel frustrated for not being able to properly reply to her. She held onto her apron and played with her hair with her other hand as soon as the girl praised them, it was very uncommon for her to hear nice things from strangers so she would probably have to return the favor somehow. Not given a chance to reply (or physically do something in return) Yun was asked another question but this time, followed by a suggestion. She was indeed trying hard to accomplish her job but hearing what she was doing wrong and how could she improve it from the blonde girl was reassuring for her, Yun gained a bit of confidence in herself thanks to her. "..." Again, the frustration from not being able to communicate to the blonde girl or at least say something more than just a few words was kicking it but this time it was going to be different. Yun took a deep breath and held one of the tickets out towards the blonde girl. She bowed politely at her and following the suggestion she didn't try to smile this time, instead, she wore her usual serious but confident look in hopes of reaching her expectations. "Please, come visit!" In a low voice and with her poor English, Yun managed to squish something out of what she learned. If it worked then it would be two possible clients that she had recruited already.

It seemed that the girl was rather focused on her work, and with the addition of this rather noisy newcomer who was rather fashionable, but a bit too soft for her size for my taste putting her low on my list even before opening her mouth, which just kept sinking her lower. She was loud, over the top, and too flamboyant for my tastes. Deciding that this was the time for a bit of a tactical retreat, I took out a piece of paper from my purse and wrote my cell phone number on it and my name before handing it to the girl and saying, "Call me when you're up for a spar or some other fun. I'll leave you to your work for now, cutie. Oh, and do let me know when you're on shift, I'll make sure to come by to see you." I said in mandarin to the girl who had given me the ticket before turning around and waving goodbye to her, doing my best to avoid the rather loud blonde who had butted in and not acknowledged my existence. After that, I just made my way around the shopping district and go the rest of the groceries and headed back home, making myself something to eat and doing the rest of my daily training

The disappearance of Yun’s other spectator left V.V. a bit miffed – did she interrupt someone’s attempt at picking her up? Damn, she felt really bad now! But, on the plus side, that meant the spectacular Vivian could take centre stage! Unfortunately, the succubus hadn’t been given a lot to work with… and given her grape-haired guest’s apparent anxiousness, maybe that was for the best. Well, she was anything if not a gentleman, so she had few issues with taking the lead for the dear. Taking the offered ticket with a smile, Vivian would give Yun a pat on the head for her troubles. It was probably a bit rude, but… aah, just look at the poor thing! And that hair was too tempting to resist touching, too; it was as bouncy as it looked. ”I certainly will have to visit, my dear! But you’ll have to make sure that you’re the one to serve me – last time I came by, all the rest of your coworkers really gave me a cold reception. Truly a shame to your art! Besides, that outfit deserves better than the average customer.” chided V.V., glancing up and down the adorable girl – and not too subtly checking her out in the process. ”Alright, I’d better leave you to your busty friend back there. I’m sorry if I interrupted too much.” concluded the succubus with a light shrug, albeit not seeming nearly as apologetic as her words might suggest; ”In the meantime, stay just as fabulous as you look now! I’ll be expecting you at my beck and call when I come round later… if you put on a good show, I’ll have to think about serving you something special in turn, ufufu…~”
